Hunter Dane Lanier – Founder
Blackjack Wilderness Co. was founded on a simple belief: time spent in wild country changes people for the better.
I’ve spent much of my life working and traveling through some of the world’s most rugged and beautiful landscapes—from the mountains of Alaska to the backcountry of New Zealand, the open country of Australia, and the wilderness of Canada. Those places shaped the way I see the outdoors—not just as adventure, but as a place for clarity, grit, and renewal.
The mountains have a way of slowing life down. Out here the air is cleaner, the miles are honest, and the distractions fade away.
That’s the experience I want to share with every guest who rides with Blackjack Wilderness Co. Whether it’s your first time on a horse or you’ve spent a lifetime in the saddle, my goal is simple: give you a real western experience and a trip that actually means something.
I believe deeply in the stewardship of the land—taking care of the country, respecting the wildlife, and honoring the traditions of the people who make their living in the backcountry.
